Stack's first.

"The Name of the Game" was a most unusual 1960s to early 70s TV show. If featured a rotating cast of actors who star in a weekly movie. The stories were often interconnected and each seemed to have something to do with the Howard Publishing Company. And, each of these three played the same character...along with some recurring cast members.

"Witness" is the first episode which starred Robert Stack. Dan Farrell (Stack) has a theory that a famous mobster's dead wife isn't dead after all. Well, after pushing and probing, Dan learns the whereabouts of the dead woman...and she's alive and well and living in Utah. Why would she fake her own death? Well, as a mob boss' wife, she accidentally saw too much....and she and her husband knew she would soon be killed. So instead, she pretends to have drowned...and hoping that no one shows up who knows who she really is. What's next? See the show and learn for yourself.

This is a very tense and exciting episode. My only quibble, and it's a little one, is the romance...which seemed difficult to believe. Still, it's well worth seeing simply because it's written so well.
