Potentially real Nightmare in the Desert...
3 June 2011 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Spoiler Alert !

A 'Gene Barry' segment episode....

Publisher Glenn Howard (Gene Barry) has been invited by the Military as one of the VIP's to witness the test firing of a Top Secret Lethal Gas weapon in a specially set up Desert Test settlement containing various animals etc...

Howard is unhappy about the use of such weapons, and goes to voice his concerns, but is kidnapped on a desert road by a strange group of people, mostly young male & female Anti war Hippie types, plus a few other older protesters.... ...who want to keep Howard as their VIP prisoner in order to hold him captive in a special sealed room in which he can observe and survive the test....for him to witness first hand their mass protest suicide, then tell the world about it through his extensive Publishing empire...

Unable to either escape the group...or get them away from the Test area in time, Glenn Howard seems to be in an impossible position...

Meanwhile Howard's Assistant Andy Hill (Cliff Potts) searches for his missing Boss...

A fascinating and cautionary tale, it anticipates later chilling real events such as Jonestown and Waco, plus the massacre of the Kurds by chemical weapons in several respects.
