As Alex, Cleo and Max discuss how to determine where next to find the Gorgos Stone, a dubious Asian visitor arrives insisting he help Max find it. As Max checks into the stranger's background, Cleo believes Mesoamerica holds promise, so Alex ventures into the legend of Quetzalcoatl and immediately finds himself the featured attraction at a human sacrifice. Quetzalcoatl intercedes just in time, and Alex finds in his savior an inspiring teacher, in turn quickly becoming his favorite and most responsive follower. Old ways die hard, however, and with drought affecting the area, Tezcatlipoca, wanting to usurp Quetzalcoatl, aims to resume the Toltec sacrifices - with Alex at the top of his hit list. Alex Bellows: Well... trying to. Not getting very much of a response, though.
Quetzalcoatl: No, often that's the way it goes with the gods.
