Storyline

Martin has a benevolence light bulb that when shone on Martians, permeates them with a "like me" glow. Tim gets in front of the bulb for fun, and later finds out from Martin that it has the exact opposite effect on humans: it permeates them with a "hate me" glow. Martin needs to find some fluorencium - an unknown substance to humans although Martin knows where to find some - to counteract the bulb's effect on Tim. Beyond Mrs. Brown wanting to evict him, Tim has an important job interview that day, and tries his hardest first to postpone it, and when he can't then second to avoid it. Tim is on the verge of losing his apartment, his girlfriend and his job, when Martin returns with the fluorencium. Written by Huggo

Trivia

Ray Walston can be glimpsed briefly -- wearing sunglasses -- in the shattered remnants of the mirror that breaks when Tim smiles at himself. The reason he does so is that Walston almost always wore sunglasses any time he was not on camera (whether on the set or outdoors) because his eyes were extremely sensitive to light. See more »

Goofs

Trying to convince himself that Uncle Martin's benevolence bulb hasn't given him a "hate me glow," Tim smiles at himself in a mirror, which promptly breaks. Once the mirror breaks, the change in the reflective surface reveals a large round studio light on a stand behind Tim, and a glimpse of Ray Walston wearing sunglasses -- something he isn't doing before or after the shot of the broken mirror.
