After doing some Christmas shopping, the Harpers find themselves stuck in an underground train that has broken down.
A great festive episode of 'My Family'
The Harpers have been shopping. They get the tube back. The tube isn't allowed to move, there is a red light. It is on red for a long time. So long, that Christmas decorations start being put up in the carriage. Susan has managed to annoy everyone in the carriage. In the carriage next door is Richard Whitely. They have been on the tube now for days. Susan has had enough and shouts a lot of verbal abuse to the driver. Finally, the tube is allowed to go, everyone is relieved. But the driver isn't going to move on until he gets an apology from Susan. It's going to be a long wait.
This is my favourite festive episode of My Family to date, there have been six now. It was great seeing the late great Richard Whitely. A good idea and most importantly hilariously funny. My Family was probably at its prime when this festive episode went out. Nick still in it. I still like the new episodes, but it's past its best. Oh and by the way, thanks for the praise 'Ace of Wanda' in your On the Buses 'Boxing Day Social' review, your comments are great too. And Compliments of the season to you too.
Best Bit: Nick runs in with Richard Whitely, NICK: Mum, Dad, It's Richard Whitely, RICHARD: Have you got any food, BEN: No, RICHARD: You said you had food, NICK: Well of course I did, I had to get you here someway didn't I (Richard walks off) NICK: Richard, can I have a p please, RICHARD: That's Bob Holness. You know you're problem. You see Richard Whitely, he's a nice guy, but I'm not. If it wasn't for the money and the women, I'd quit tomorrow. (As he walks off, Nick sings the countdown theme at him)
