Ben gets egged by Tracey Beaker
17 March 2008 | by (Manchester) – See all my reviews

A great episode from the fourth series of 'My Family'

It is Halloween. Susan is really in the spirit of things, predictably Ben isn't. She has decorated the house with all Halloween stuff. Some kids knock at the door, Ben has an argument with them which results in him being egged. Then a known friend Mr Green turns up who is out Trick or Treating with his son Timmy. He says he is just nipping out, leaving Timmy. Ben makes Timmy cry by saying you just rot away when you die. Then Roger comes round to try and get into the Halloween spirit. The kids who egged Ben turn up again. Ben gives them sweets but they want different sweets. This results in another argument which means Ben gets egged again. Because of this, the kids cause a riot outside the house, burning things etc. He calls the Police. There have been some strange noises in the house, there is someone upstairs, it is Mr Green for scaring Timmy. When a knock comes at the door, Roger thinks it's the same kids again so he gets them with an egg gun, but it is the Police who have come to respond to Ben's call.

A fine episode this. Haloween is a great idea for comedy, just look at the 'Bottom' episode 'Terror' Nigel Harrison played Mr Green, he plays Ray in 'The Green Green Grass' One of the girls who eggs Ben is Dani Harmer, most famous of course for playing Tracey Beaker. She also played Molly in 'After You've Gone' which is created by Fred Baron, creator of this.

Best Bit: Ben being egged.
