Storyline

Janey comes home from Manchester for Christmas, announcing that she is pregnant though she refuses to name the baby's father much to Susan's annoyance. Ben is even more annoyed when Nick decides to go into business selling Christmas trees and fills the lounge with them - though unfortunately they are to be sold for next year's Christmas. Ben is even more angry when Nick decides to bring home a lonely elderly man to have Christmas dinner with the family - not that any of them are enamoured with Susan 's recipe for cooking the turkey and decide they would have been better off as vegetarians. The best 'My Family' Christmas Special
21 December 2016 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

It took until its third series but this was the first 'My Family' Christmas special, and unlike many of the ones that followed, this one actually was.

The reason for this is that very simple you have a good story being told - Janey's pregnant, Nick's causing chaos - and because the characters at this point are clear and well written, we as an audience go along with it. This was 'My Family' at it's best.

There are so many lovely moments in this episode, and yet it is only a half hour show. A person favourite for me though is the scene between Ben and Nick regarding the drive through Santa's grotto.

If you watch any 'My Family' Christmas special, I can only recommend this one.
