Never let special interest groups tell you how to run the news.

The FYI team is frustrated by the sudden presence of a leader of a group of complaining mothers (Caroline Lagerfelt) who is threatening to boycott the show sponsors if they don't pull a story on the distribution of condoms in high schools. Murphy decides to take on Lagerfelt's protest by going to Chicago to see the last of the sponsors (Wayne Tippit) who hasn't pulled out from advertising on the show. But there are some surprises coming from the seemingly conservative Tippit who gets a rant that even Julia Sugarbaker on "Designing Women" would have applauded. "Not all conservative agree on all things. You liberal firebrands don't hold a patent when it comes to standing up for freedom." That's a nice twist on conservative and liberal conflicts that has Tippit telling Lagerfelt that if she doesn't like what Murphy's saying on the air to just changed the channel. This is a show that needs to go into the Hall of Fame of television shows to describe what freedom really is all about, and it holds up as well now as it did over 30 years ago.
