Dennis Stanton's car, a red Mazda Miata convertible, was first introduced in the US and Canadian markets in May 1989 for the 1990 model year. It would thus have to have been almost brand-new at the time of filming, or perhaps even provided as product placement prior to the model going on sale, given that this episode first aired just five months after the launch.
The title alludes to the expression that an opera is not over till the aria by the large female singer is sung.
This is the first of two episodes in which Carol Lawrence portrays a high-strung opera star. While Carol is a Tony-nominated/ Theater World award winner (1958, Lead Actress in a Musical for "West Side Story") and starred in numerous Broadway musicals (e.g. "South Pacific," "Kiss of the Spider Woman"), she lip-synced her operatic voice.
