On a dark and stormy night on a remote island, Jessica finds herself in the middle of a wealthy family squabbling over the inheritance of a millionaire.

Multi-millionaire Henry Reynard met Jessica on a book judging panel and invited her to his private island to earn a $1,000,000 check for the charity of her choice. However, to her horror, Henry wants her help finding out which of Henry's heirs intends to kill him: son Jason, daughter Valerie, granddaughter Kim, and/or their partners. Jessica refuses, but, while she stays for the weekend, Dr. Hubbard Dabney finds Henry has been shot. The heirs are appalled the $50,000,000 estate goes to Jessica. Later, Preston, Kim's fiancé, whom a P.I. report (found in Henry's desk) exposed as a fraud, is found shot in the pool-house. Now Henry reemerges. He had staged his death with Dr. Dabney's help and installed hidden cameras. Jessica is disgusted but helps Sheriff Brademus wrap up the investigation.—KGF Vissers

Jessica has been invited by the very rich Henry Reynard to spend the weekend at his remote mansion along with the members of his direct family. He tells Jessica that one of those family members is out to kill him and offers to donate $1 million to the charity of her choice to find who it is. Jessica is not at all keen on the idea. After dinner that evening, Henry tells his family that he has changed his will. Before he can say much more, the lights go out and he is killed. To top things off, his new will leaves his entire fortune to Jessica and she is to decide what, if anything, his greedy relatives are to receive. Another death, and a revelation that in fact only one person has died, narrows the suspects.—garykmcd
