Dr. James Lamont, top-secret viral weapon Project 14's supervisor at the Atlanta Disease Research Institute, is blackmailed but reports so to his new security chief, Mark Reisner. He and FBI agent Ed Crider set up a trap for the client, arms dealer-hit-man Carl Van Ness, who already killed the intermediary there. A hotel-room mix-up gets Jessica photos so she's taken in confidence. CIA agent Dennis Quinlan and NSA are also on the case. Jessica keeps the room to help Mark snooping. Angela Lansbury's son Anthony Shaw directed the second to the last broadcast #12.#23 television mystery play "Murder, She Wrote" - "Mrs. Parker's Revenge" - broadcast on 12 May 1996. Peter Shaw (1918-2003, age 84), Angela's husband and Anthony's father, appears in the mystery play's opening sequence. Peter, dressed as one of the Lab Rat Doctors, stands behind a laboratory counter. Placing Peter Shaw in the opening group of Lab Doctors' shot as the camera pans the group of laboratory doctors and technicians was planned by Anthony as a farewell touch to the CBS TV series demise ending the twelfth season. The last television mystery play for "Murder, She Wrote" - #12.#24, "Death by Demographics" was broadcast 19 May, 1996. The mystery play's title "Mrs. Parker's Revenge" is explained by Jessica at the end of the show. "Mrs. Parker's husband was trying to poison her with strychnine served to her in a glass of orange juice, every morning, by her husband! Mrs. Parker discovered her husband's plan, switching her orange juice with her husband's glass of orange juice!" - the solution of the mystery play's murder. See more
Jessica holds a cassette tape left to her by Mark. It is an ordinary sized audio cassette. Later she listens to the tape but the machine it is played on is too small to take the size of the audio cassette she had. See more
