Divorced dad Tom Robbins picks his daughter up from school, and gets into a physical altercation with a twelve year old boy, an altercation that has massive consequences for Tom.
I remember struggling with this one at the time, it is such an uncomfortable watch, it's stomach churning and upsetting in equal measure. The sense of injustice is almost unbearable.
The first twenty minutes or so are shocking, you'll feel so uncomfortable, after the funeral you'll feel even more uncomfortable, that twist is a real humdinger.
You'll ask all sorts of questions, was Tom totally in the wrong, did he act irrationality, was he right to do what he did, how low has society fallen, when children can act and behave in such a way.
Adrian Dunbar, as always is superb, Colin Salmon too, what an actor, and what an incredibly smart man.
Gut wrenching.
8/10.
