Storyline
One day, while Katie Hatcliffe ("Mrs Hat") is shopping, she sees her double, Sonya Redfern ("Mrs Red"). Intrigued, she follows Mrs Red home and discovers both Mrs Red's glamorous lifestyle and her plans to leave her husband. Mrs Hat takes Mrs Red's place and makes good use of the opportunity to live her dream life as the wife of a wealthy businessman. But. . . what will happen when the deception is discovered? In the sixth and final episode of the first season of "Murder Most Horrid", Dawn French plays dual roles: Mrs. Red, a snobbish rich woman who decides to abandon her husband for her lover, and Mrs. Hat, a sweet poor woman who accidentally meets her "doppelganger" ("how come the Germans have a word for it and we don't?"), Mrs. Red, in a supermarket, full of curiosity follows her to her luxurious house and, when the opportunity presents itself, she takes her place and becomes a loving mother and wife. A simple, fairy-tale-like yarn, with a very satisfying ending. A fine way to close the first season of this very bizarre and generally entertaining series. **1/2 out of 4.
