Star Wars and Muppet characters appeared together in various Disney anniversary specials, before and after this episode aired. Earlier, C-3PO and R2-D2 and Kermit the Frog were among the many celebrities to pay tribute to Mickey Mouse for his fiftieth birthday in 1978, in a special called Mickey's 50 (1978).
