Eddie announces that there will be a talent show in his school, and has chosen Herman to participate doing something. Herman gets worried, because he doesn't know what to prepare for the event. Grandpa will help Herman using, of course, his magician skills. In the laboratory, Grandpa shows Lily a pair of magic dance slippers for Herman, and a bunch of jars with magic dust to dance in almost every stile. After trying to sing a tune, Herman accedes to try the slippers and the magic dust, but the spell fails and poor Herman leaves the house dancing in a strange and uncontrollable way for 3 hours. Then, Herman decides to prepare a magic show. But he doesn't have the talent of a skilled magician and Lily asks Grandpa that helps Herman, in order to make some successful tricks in the talent show. Did You Know?

Lily Munster: Grandpa! How can you act like that? After all Herman has done for you. Why, if it wasn't for him, you'd still be back in the old country, hanging around in some damp old cave, scratching fleas out of your wings and wondering who your next square meal was coming from!

Herman The Entertainer
22 December 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Here's another episode dealing Grandpa and his famous potions, which half of the time don't work but produce funny results, whether they work or not. In this case, he uses a potion on Herman to give him some talent, since has "volunteered" for Eddie's school's Talent Night.....and Herman has no talent! We can vouch for that when Herman practices singing. He's brutal.

Magic ballet slippers will give him instant talents, thinks Grandpa. "I got the recipe from Hans Christian Anderson," says the mad scientist. "The shoes, and some magic dancing powder thrown on them, will do the trick." Grandpa makes them specially for Herman (size 26E) but Herman thinks they will make him look "like a Communist, or something." He asks for the soft-shoe powder because "there always was a little Gene Kelly in me." However, Grandpa sprinkles ballet dust on them and Herman tip toes through the house, pirouettes out the door, etc.

To make a long story short, Eddie volunteers his father as a magician so, naturally, Grandpa has to do all the work and Herman winds up learning a lesson in humility - nothing new for this ham.
