Did You Know?

In the first sketch, the All England Summarize Proust Competition, the first contestant is asked what his hobbies are. In the original script he replied, "Er, well there's golf, strangling small animals, and masturbation." The last reference didn't make it past the BBC censors. Consequently, given the low budget that the BBC allowed, and not knowing how big a hit Monty Python would eventually become, that last line never survived. Even on the DVD version of the show, the contestant says, "Er, well there's golf, strangling small animals," and then there is a cut to a huge, inexplicable laugh from the audience.See more »
