Chambers: Now what we do is a little asset survey, and we should clear ourselves ouer 15 million. Sweet little deal.
Copperfield: Sounds like an incredible deal, Alfred.
Chambers: Well, he figured he had everything under control. Kept the pressure on his board. Thought he had the votes to start with. He really thought he'd won. So off he went to the South of France to get away from it all. I moved in with one of those sweet little bonus offers, too good to...

Jim Phelps Come Out Of Retirement
3 September 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The Killer is a pilot episode of the the remake of a classic TV series known as Mission Impossible. This first episode was actually a remake of the first episode also with the same title while the classic series was on during its fifth season back in the 70's.Once more,we get to meet Peter Graves reprise his role as IMF team leader,Jim Phelps

It all starts when Tom Copperfield, who was tasked to become the IMF team leader and Jim's protégé,was killed by an professional assassin known as Matthew Drake. This prompted Jim to come out of retirement and form a new set of team to come after the said assassin and the man behind him who is only known by his code name "Scorpio".His new IMF team faces a challenge in seeking Drake as the said assassin has unorthodox killing methods and their lack of experience as they are working on their first mission.

Well, this was a great pilot episode for any TV series. The writers did a fantastic job of providing a good reason for Jim Phelps to come out of retirement and be once again involved with the IMF with the death of his protégé.As for the story,it was still would manage to entertain fans of the classic TV series as we get to see how creative the new team is in pursuing slick criminals like Drake and fulfilling their mission.
