Just say 'NO' to chemical weapon plants!
10 March 2017 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

"Spy" is a very unusual episode for "Mission: Impossible". A few episodes earlier, they had a super-unusual one where one of the show's regulars was killed! This time, the mission is blown when their clever adversary figures out who Phelps is and he and the team need to bid a hasty retreat in order to save their butts. Then, Phelps HOPES that their foe, John Christie assumes the mission is over...and has the team return to finish the job. So what IS this important? Christie is a scum-bag who has created an underground chemical weapons plant...and he's even tested out the chemicals on some harmless African villagers!! Nice guy, huh?

I really appreciate this episode because I have seen just about all the episodes of both "Mission: Impossible" shows and only very, very rarely is a mission compromised like this one. It shows they are NOT infallible and great plans can still fall apart. For this reason alone, it's a must-see episode and one of the best in the first season of the series re-boot.
