Storyline

Gunnar Malstrom is one of the leaders of the Pendulum, a secret terrorist organization seeking to overthrow the United States government. The IMF is informed that the Pendulum is shortly planning a major attack on the government, code-named Nightfall. With no knowledge of other members of the Pendulum, the IMF lures Malstrom to the headquarters of a phony corporate conglomerate, where they learn bits and pieces of the plan -- but fail to uncover that the official who is supposedly the target of Nightfall has already been replaced by a Pendulum double. Trivia

Casey lures Malstrom to the headquarters of a fake corporation, "World Resources, Ltd." that the IMF has set up in this episode. An establishing shot shows that the headquarters has an unusual "inverted double pyramid" design, in which each lower floor gradually becomes wider than the floor below it until the middle level, after which each floor becomes proportionately smaller for the same number of stories. This building is actually the library on the campus of the University of California at San Diego as it looked in the early 1970s when this episode was filmed. (It can also be seen in the pilot episode of "Simon and Simon," which actually was set in San Diego.) See more »

Goofs

After General Weston is killed the killers pull his body out of the car and drag him away. As they do his toes leave two small furrows in the dirt. To the right of these furrows are two identical furrows from an earlier take. See more »
