Crime boss Benjamin Dane wants to take over the Pantheon movie studio and put his inexperienced brother Theo in charge. The IMF, on a mission to get the mob's records, waylays Theo and puts similar-looking Jim in his place. Norman Shields, who is currently running the studio, is distressed to learn that his new boss is about to produce "Portrait of a Murder" an exact retelling of a crime he himself committed, written and directed by Barney playing an artsy director. Jim as Theo gets Shields to disgrace himself on film, and shoot him "dead" so Big Boss Ben will demand the records and the IMF can step in. He does. They do.
