Brother and sister Alexi and Anna Kerkoska want to defect, and give the U.S. a list of government officials sympathetic to the West. Although Anna believes that the defection is genuine it's really a trap set by Alexi and Police Chief Petrovitch. They hope to get the list and embarrass the West in one fell swoop. Despite the trap the IMF must rescue Anna and recover the list. Meanwhile during the course of the mission Phelps and Anna begin to develop romantic feelings for each other. Written by eem

About halfway through the episode, when Police Chief Petrovich summons Alexei Kerkoska to his office, the camera cants low as it shoots from behind Petrovich toward Kerkoska. At one point, however, it pitches too low and reveals the rough walls of the sound stage behind the false walls of the inside of Petrovich's office. See more »

Person on Tape: Good morning, Mr. Phelps. Before he died last year, Premiere Kerkoska gave his daughter, Anna, a secret document containing the names of men within his government who privately favor friendly relations with the West. Decoy....fake them out again
8 March 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Finally a UHF station in the Los Angeles area is showing Mission Impossible on a regular basis. I miss the show! This episode was one of the later ones and you can see the twist they put in the show....Phelps gets involved romantically. A bit more human rather than the robotic agents that the characters are known for.

I remember how perfect everything always worked out. A few snags here and there but everyone fills in their role for the mission. I love how the plot just unfolds and the producers never bore the audience by showing the characters plan for their missions. I think this later episode still holds the same formula as in the past. Peter Lupus played a smaller role here (I love his character every since I was a kid watching the show). Leonard Nemoy's character, Paris, was important but he was really not on camera much after the half way point (he went in disguise). Leslie Warren played Phelp's sister and her sexy role was reduced in this one in order to draw out the romance that Phelp's get involved in. It was apparent that there's romance in the air during the walk in the park shoot. Maybe a little corny, but still, great fun watching it and I'll tune in everyday!

Anyone noticed that 2 of the main guest stars played major roles in the movie "Patton"?
