Joe Seaton's wife is ill in the hospital and the bills are stacking up. The doctor informs Joe the total cost of his wife's stay in the hospital will be $1,000 (not including his fees). Joe, desperate for money, places an ad in the newspaper offering his services to do anything legal and ethical for the sum of $1,000. He's soon contacted by Pete Fullerton and his wife. Pete asks Joe to assume his identity to avoid a conflict he predicts will most certainly come his way. Joe reluctantly accepts after the deal is sweetened but a case of mistaken identity puts Joe's wife at danger. Joe must rush to save his wife and take care of the folks putting his wife in danger.
