Is it me or is this the episode the MV producers decided that recapturing the tired clichés of season's 2 & 3 were more important than making gutsy, unpredictable TV.
Despite the encouraging signs shown in the first 6 episodes of season 4, this drivel practically undoes all the good work. The contrived dislike between Crockett and Caitlin Davies (Sheena Easton) quickly turns to an even more contrived love. I'm sure the writers would love to cite The African Queen as inspiration, but this feels more like something that came out of daytime TV.
The only new ground this episode breaks is showing Lt. Castillo with a smile on his face and expression in his voice...although I'm not sure that's a good thing. Lastly, I almost fell on the floor laughing at the priceless cutaway at Crockett's wedding to the band...gotta love rockin' out on those synth guitars. I'm curious to know if they'll be able to recover from this crap.
