Ensign Parker needs to feel wanted.
kfo949429 October 2014
When five new nurses come to base, Ensign Parker is placed in charge of basic on-field training. And as you can guess Parker is not that physically inclined to do much with the lovely ladies. But one of the nurses, Georgianne Comstock (Joyce Bulifant), makes the entire experience poor for Mr Parker. At one point she flips him over her back and another she shoots down a Jap plane when Parker could not get the gun working. Things are going so bad that Parker puts in for a transfer.

Well, McHale will try, with the help of Georgianne, to make Parker feel more valuable to the base. The plan is that Georgianne will come out on the boat and when an enemy sub is spotted they will drop Georgianne and Parker on a nearby island where McHale's crew will be waiting to make Parker feel needed. The crew is to dress up like local tribesman and let Parker defend the lady's honor. But when Binghamton shows up, McHale's crew never makes it to the island where Parker and the nurse are located.

There is a lot of tomfoolery going on in this episode and some of the antics are overplayed. But overall this is a very nice story that was well done by the entire cast. Joyce Bulifant was like a breath of fresh-air as her appearance and acting ability really came through on the screen. Would not have mind if she had returned in future episodes since she brought energy to the show. Nice watch.
