Quotes

Mrs. Binghamton: [telling her husband how proud and brave he is] Oh, you crazy daring fool. How often I have read, and re-read, your letters. Oh, those awful raids and the hand-to-hand combat.
Lt. Elroy Carpenter: You have every right to be proud ma'am. The Captain is always the first one at the dock when the men come back.

The series bounces back with a nice episode.

The beautiful Yvonne Craig makes an appearance in this episode which will always make for a more pleasurable experience as she plays a sweet-looking nurse on the base of Taratupa. She has agreed to be part of the show that the crew of the 73 is planning if they can get Binghamton's approval. It will not take long before Ms Craig, I mean, Nurse Clayton, can change the ways of our beloved Captain by making him her dance partner.

But things all of the sudden take a poor turn when a plane has arrived that has Ms Binghamton aboard. It seems that the Captain's wife is on a tour of the Pacific and stops by to check on her husband. And with the Captain suppose to escort Nurse Clayton to the shindig, now all plans are off.

Admiral Rogers also arrives on the island and gets the impression that Nurse Clayton is the wife of Binghamton. The Admiral is very proud of the Captain and is in one of his better moods as he also like the looks of the young girl. Now Binghamton has to keep the Admiral happy, so he goes along with the ruse. Now it will be up to McHale and Parker to keep the real Ms Binghamton away while the Admiral is present.

This was a nice change from the usual script. The dialog was humorous and the acting well done. In fact the writers went away from the normal ridiculous antics to make a show worthy of watching. It also did not hurt to have Yvonne Craig in the cast. She makes anything look better. Good watch.
