Visiting rodeo
1 July 2015 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

This McCloud episode I had cold from the gitgo. Just the casting alone told me who the killer was.

Still trying to find uses for his new officer trainee from Taos, New Mexico, J.D. Cannon has Dennis Weaver work security for the visiting rodeo at Madison Square Garden. They need a lot of security in that rodeo just do to the fact that some of these who McCloud knows from back home are not big and law and order and deportment. In fact one of them James Wainwright likes poaching on the girls his fellow cowboys have.

Such an attitude can get a man killed and in this case it does with Wainwright. Burr DeBenning another of the cowboys is suspected because he had a rather public fight in a bar with Wainwright. But of course McCloud knows these good old country boys and DeBenning's not the guy.

This one was definitely one of the weaker McCloud entries in that first season.
