Strange Mystery Story
3 December 2010 | by (Valencia, Spain) – See all my reviews

This was an odd story which was different from the normal episode of Maverick. Robert Colbert was playing Brent Maverick, the 4th member of the Maverick family to star on this show. Unlike James Garner, Jack Kelly, or Roger Moore, Colbert did not seem to have a flair for humor. Colbert only starred in three episodes, and they felt more like episodes of Gunsmoke or Have Gun Will Travel.

In this episode, Colbert is following the stolen money, and everyone else is trying to steal it from whomever has it. The money keeps moving around, and the dead bodies keep popping up. What is pretty amazing is that by the end of the story, there are several people who have been killed, and yet the survivors kiss and say goodbye and everyone rides away like nothing happened. I like Colbert, especially in the Time Tunnel TV series. If you look at this episode as just a western story, it is not bad. However, it does not fit in with the rest of the Maverick series.
