Bart & Gentleman Jack's testy partnership snaps when Jack guns down Little Jeb of the Plummer Gang, after Bart & Jack were run out of the previous town for gambling. Bad loser Jeb gave the duplicitous Gentleman 3 steps to get to the saloon door, mister, but his gang is not so generous, forcing Jack and blonde saloon dancer Cindy Lou Brown to flee through Sioux Territory. Jack still had time to get Bart jailed as Jack's alias Sir Stratford Avon, so Bart wants in on the chase too. Written by
When Bart and the girl are hiding in the cave, the Indians outside look up to a cliff. It is the same cliff as in Burial Ground of the Gods when the team sleep the first night in the forbidden area. See more »
Bart rides into a rocky alcove at 20:25, then rides out, rides along a ridge and then rides hard to escape Indians, before hiding in.. the same alcove, at 21:25. This is the same alcove used in The Judas Mask (S02E07) at 15:15. See more »
"Alias Bart Maverick" brings Bart and Gentleman Jack Darby together, and they make a comical pair. When Bart sees Darby's name on a wanted poster, he starts thinking reward. Darby frames Bart instead and uses "Bart Maverick" as his new alias. Trailing Darby to Deadwood, Bart asks him how he goes through all this and stays so neat. Arlene Howell is Cindy Lou Brown, Darby's girl friend and a saloon singer. She was Miss USA for 1958. Bart resorts to the thousand dollar bill pinned inside his coat, and Cindy exclaims, "You carpetbagger!" before confiding in us. She grew up poor and came west to make money. She wants to return to Louisiana in a diamond tiara and silk dress. Richard Long is perfect in the role of Gentleman Jack Darby.
