[first lines]
Beauregarde Maverick: Ah, I'm afraid it's a little bit early for me, Rand.
Rand Storm: Nonsense, Maverick. You're not afraid of drinking your own liquor, are you? Are is Champagne too rich for your taste?
Beauregarde Maverick: Just don't want to drink up all the profits, is all.
Rand Storm: Don't you worry about the profits. You'll get fat on your fifty percent. Well, here's to our partnership and to the royal flush that won it for you.
Beauregarde Maverick: Now *that* I can't refuse to drink to.

A Bullet For The Teacher
30 January 2016 | by (Nashville, Tennessee) – See all my reviews

Beau becomes half-owner of a casino. Kathleen Crowly is singer Flo Baker. When Flo shoots Beau's partner, Maverick gets the blame. The deceased partner's brother frames Beau because he wants the casino. Flo leaves town to become a school teacher, teaching history and spelling to young kids. Crowley has that Marilyn Monroe look popular among sex symbols of the Maverick era. One of her students is older and smitten. She tells him she is not teaching the birds and bees. When she refuses to help Beau clear his name, he has to soften her up. I love those old Maverick episodes. They take me back to my early adolescence. Max Baer, who played Jethro Bodine in the Beverly Hillbillies, appears in this one. Many of the actors who made it in the 60s got their start in Maverick.
