What's love got to do with it?

Warning: Spoilers
Twelve years before Tina Turner first recorded her signature song, guest star Frank Aletter nearly utilizes the exact same lyrics as he reflects on Carol's desire to marry him in spite of the fact that she doesn't love him.

Yes, she respects him, and they've apparently been dating on and off for two years, but after dealing with lecherous bosses and no father for her son, she's ready to take what she can get. Her motivations make sense to her and Aletter, but Maude is opposed.

This episode is loud and even violent, but very funny as the audience witnesses brutal fights between Carol and Maude first, and later a dish breaking fight between Walter and Maude. But the fight wakes Carol up so it has a point.

Carol Wants To Get Married

Carol is frustrated by not being able to find a job, so she decides marriage would be the best thing for her, even if it is not for love.

An OK episode. Maude and Walter are arguing at the beginning and Carol tells them her news that she wants to marry her current boyfriend though she doesn't love him. Maude is livid and Walter is apathetic. This is the first time we see Carol's room upstairs. The funniest scene is Maude and Walter continuing their fight with throwing food and smashing cups and dishes.

2 bad episodes in a row

Will be interesting how the quality is the rest of season 1. Good writing now is replaced with screaming & Maude's tantrums. The series has talented costars. So the more they're incorporated I remember the series getting off the crazy Maude dominating kick, back to better writing.
