Another episode where Mary endures an uncomfortable situation to avoid telling a pushy or persistent person 'no' and hurting their feelings. This idea was well done in 'A Friend in Deed', and 'The Care and Feeding of Parents'.
Here painfully unfunny joker Warren Sturges (Stuart Margolin) decides he loves Mary after just one date and figures that with persistence, she will come to love him too. And we really do mean persistence.
Mary Tyler Moore does do some great comedy acting in this, especially in the opening scenes and in the climax, but I didn't really like this episode. Warren is so incredibly boorish that I find it very difficult to believe Mary didn't halt things right away. And the things she couldn't stop are so extreme and embarrassing it is more uncomfortable than funny.
