The attractive blonde woman - first seen when Martin Morgenstern holds the door open for her at WJM, and then later standing next to the 'rabbi' (series creator, James Brooks) - is Leslie Hall credited as 'women's costumes'. The two outfits Ms. Hall is seen wearing in the episode were both worn several times by Mary Richards. In fact, it was Ms Hall's innate fashion sense which got her the job, and many times, it was outfits she herself wore which ended up in Mary Richards' closet.
The first appearance of Rhoda's father, Martin. Prior to this episode, only Ida had made appearances, but, it was around this time that the idea of spinning Rhoda off into her own series was under serious consideration, and this episode, and a later one (where Mary accompanies Rhoda to her sister - the only once-seen,'Debbie') were try-outs - trying to find the perfect balance for that series'eventual cast.
This is the last episode that Ted Knight does not appear in. He previously also was not in season 1 episodes Keep Your Guard Up (1970) and Toulouse-Lautrec Is One of My Favorite Artists (1970).
