"Married with Children" The Camping Show (TV Episode 1988) Poster

Trivia

This episode was originally titled "A Period Piece". But the FOX Network censors thought that women would be offended by the title, even though the episode was written by two women and the series' episode titles never appeared on screen. The censors asked the writers to retitle the script so the writers just named it "The Camping Show".

Early in the episode, Al (Ed O'Neill) and Steve (David Garrison) celebrate their pending fishing trip by air-playing the song 'Dueling Banjos' from the film Deliverance (1972). Ed O'Neil made his film debut (uncredited) as a sheriff's deputy in Deliverance.
