"Married with Children" She's Having a Baby: Part 1 (TV Episode 1991) Poster

Trivia

When Katey Sagal got pregnant in real life, the writers decided to make her character Peggy pregnant in the show as well, so they wouldn't have to hide Sagal's pregnancy. When she unexpectedly miscarried later in the season, the 11th episode 'Al Bundy, Shoe Dick' was written to reveal that the previous 10 episodes were one of Al's bad dreams, and this explaining why both Peggy and Marcy were no longer pregnant. In seasons 8 and 10, when Sagal got pregnant again, she would be temporarily written out of the show, or her pregnancy hidden. In both instances, she successfully gave birth.

Abraham Benrubi appears in Al's pregnancy panicked daydream as Kid #3, a huge baby that grabs Al by the ankles, shakes him upside down until all the money comes out before subsequently tossing him in the garbage. Although uncredited in this episode for his role as "The Baby", Benrubi would appear on later episodes as Cousin Jimmy in a storyline where horndog Bud inadvertently deflowers Cousin Jimmy's promiscuous bride to be shortly before the wedding. His enormous stature made him intimidating and threatening, as he told Bud he would kill whoever had sex with his wife, but he often played sweet and simple minded characters. Benrubi's real claim to fame would come shortly after Married With Children when he landed the role of Jerry on the long-running TV show E.R.
