Storyline

Newly unemployed Steve decides he doesn't really want to work, so he fritters away his days with the Bundys, visiting zoos and taking fishing trips. The strain this puts on Steve's relationship with Marcy who ends up going out with Al to a local bar where they swap stories about their failing marriages. But the conversation between Al and Marcy reaches its peak when Marcy has to decide whether to use the $25,000 reward she earned by foiling a bank robbery, sustaining a gunshot wound in the process, to buy a new car or to bail out Steve, who has been arrested for "rescuing" Bosco the tortoise from the local zoo. Goofs

At the conclusion, Steve is supposed to have killed a salt water Caribbean pygmy turtle by putting into Lake Michigan, a fresh water lake. First of all, there is no such animal as a Caribbean pygmy turtle. Second, turtles are reptiles and are not vulnerable the way a salt water fish placed in fresh water would be. Salt water turtles can survive in fresh water for short periods of time. See more »

Get a Job, Steve!
1 June 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

When Steve enjoys unemployment a little too much, Marcy helps get him an interview at his old bank. But after spending time with Peggy and the kids who now refer to him as Uncle Steve at the Zoo, Steve is enjoying his time off and is now becoming more of an animal person concerned about the plight of the animals. Marcy gets angry when she learns that he spends his time at the zoo. It's nice to see Marcy and Al agree that they married deadbeats. When Steve thinks that he's saving a beloved zoo turtle, he discovers that the turtle is an ocean turtle and not a freshwater turtle after he frees him in Lake Michigan. All the while that Marcy stops an armed robbery at the bank and even gets shot.
