She's An Animal!
7 December 2011 | by (Toronto, Canada) – See all my reviews

Feral girl raised by wolves in India grows up to be a wolf-woman (Laura Cushing) and is removed from her wild habitat and brought to New York City to be studied by scientists. When someone attempts to kill her in her cage she escapes and roams Manhattan.

Police consultant Professor Jonathan Chase (Simon MacCorkindale) who has the power to turn himself into various forms of wildlife and has devoted his life to the study of animals and their similarity to humans has something in common with the wolf-woman and tries to find her and help her before she goes around humping guys legs, chasing cars, biting mailmen and whizzing on fire hydrants.

It is Manhattan in the 1980s so it won't be too long before any kind of woman begins to attract men. Modern guys tend to like a gal who has had her shots or at least shaves her pits. But the wolf-woman should do okay until she finds a dude she likes and rubs her poo in his fur so that he'll remember her scent. This young lady gives new meaning to the phrase "She's an animal!".

Having turned himself into a panther and found her at the zoo in the wolf cage Chase changes from panther back into man (fully-dressed which is a neat trick he did throughout the series) in front of her showing her they have wild beginnings in common he wins her trust and takes her back to his palacial brownstone. Once there he and Detective Mckenzie try to find out who she really is and why someone might want to kill her.

When I first saw this episode I was 9 years old and mistakenly identified the actress playing the wolf-woman as Kathleen Quinlan. The actress was in fact Laura Cushing.
