When Solo talks to the Inspector Darwa who in charge of the items from the plane crash he shows him a card stating he is from the United Northern Casualty & Liability Exchange (UNCLE).
The US aircraft shown early in the episode is an F-4B Phantom II from VMFA-513 (Marine Fighter Attack Squadron). The tail letters are WF and the word "MARINES" can be seen on the side as the aircraft is landing. VMFA-513 flew out of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) El Toro in Orange County, about 50 miles down the coast from Hollywood.
The device attached to the sniper rifle that makes the bird target glow in the dark actually is a WHAM-O Air Blaster, a toy that shoots a "ball" of air up to 20 feet.
Thrush agent Tom Simpson (Linden Chiles) presents himself as an insurance investigator, working the plane crash case in competition with Napoleon Solo. Years later, Chiles would play recurring character Henry DeWitt on "Banacek", where he competed with series lead Thomas Banacek (George Peppard) as insurance investigators.
The "Varack-B" case is actually that of a 1920's Corona Model 4 Typewriter. A close up of the latch shows the wording "Corona Typewriter Company".
