THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. – The Nowhere Affair - 1966

This is the 53rd episode of 1964 to 1968 spy series, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. The series ran for a total of 105 episodes. The first season was filmed in black and with the remainder shot in colour. Robert Vaughn plays agent Napoleon Solo while David McCallum, plays Illya Kuryakin, Leo G Carroll plays Mister Waverly, the boss of the secret agency known as U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law & Enforcement) Their main enemy is THRUSH, an organization out to take over the planet.

UNCLE agent Robert Vaughn is sent out into the Nevada desert to the ghost town of Nowhere. He is to meet a fellow agent with info on a hidden THRUSH base. He finds the info but the contact has been killed. Vaughn is soon set upon by several THURSH heavies and captured. Vaughn takes a new amnesia pill so he cannot give up any info to the THRUSH types.

THRUSH boss David Sheiner is less than amused with the lack of info that torture is extracting from Vaughn. He goes for a gentler approach and has THRUSH agent, Diana Hyland, snuggle up to Vaughn. Vaughn, who is still is under the influence of the amnesia drug, snuggles right back. Hyland is to convince Vaughn the two are a couple. Sheiner hopes this well cause Vaughn to recall something about being an UNCLE agent.

While all this is going on, UNCLE Agent David McCallum is hot on the trail of Vaughn. He uses an electronic tracking device to help locate Vaughn. He soon enlists the help of local prospector, J Pat O'Malley to assist in breaking into the underground THRUSH base.

Inside, Vaughn is slowly recovering from the effects of the amnesia drug. He realizes he needs to escape. THRUSH agent Hyland is willing to help. She has fallen in love with Vaughn.

Needless to say there is now a big shootout with several THRUSH guards eating more lead than is good for them. McCallum, with prospector O'Malley in tow, arrive with an arm load of dynamite. This is quickly put to good use to destroy the THRUSH base after our heroes have fled.

UNCLE decides Hyland is worth saving, and give her a very large dose of the amnesia drug. This will remove any memory she has of working for THRUSH.
