Chrissy turns movie-maker!
24 September 2010 | by (Ambrosia) – See all my reviews

The penultimate series of 'House' began with this cracking episode.

Chrissy's taste in men is as appalling as ever, her latest beau is film buff Neil ( Peter Greene ), a man so boring as to make Lembit Opik seem like Brad Pitt. Neil gives her a birthday present of a movie camera, so she and the others star in their own production - 'Chrissy & Friends'. Neil borrows equipment so they can watch the finished result in the flat. It is an unmitigated disaster. Before the screen and projector go back, however, Larry comes up with another use for them - blue movies...

Peter Greene played 'George' in an early 'Some Mothers Do Ave Em' ( the one with the gadget-packed house which Frank destroys ) and the 'Chaplain' in I.T.V.'s 'Doctor' series. It is hard to fathom what Chrissy sees in Neil, but I suppose for plot purposes their relationship was necessary. Pity Robin did not have the camera handy when he caught Jo in the bath.

Funniest moment - the home movie which, among other things, has Robin doing an Olympic dive into a kids' paddling pool and Larry attempting to striptease in public.

Second funniest moment - the look on Roper's face when Jo tells him that Chrissy is in the blue movie 'Red Hot & Randy' ( they knew how to title porn films in those days! ), along with her, Robin and Larry. Of course Larry has been conned and they wind up watching a 'Mr.Magoo' cartoon instead.
