Storyline

Jo is anxious to impress new boyfriend David and strong arms Robin into cooking a romantic meal for him. Robin duly obliges and,to make themselves scarce for the couple, he and Chrissy go down to the Ropers' flat to play Monopoly with them. Unfortunately Robin has innocently cooked pork dishes for David, who turns out to be Jewish,so the evening is not strictly kosher. Written by don @ minifie-1

Dinner for two
26 February 2010 | by (Ambrosia) – See all my reviews

Jo is unhappy because the man she is dating - David ( Steve Patterson )

  • does not seem to have any sexual interest in her. Working on the

principle that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach ( and knowing of Jo's less-than impressive culinary skills ), Chrissy asks Robin to prepare a dinner for two in the flat. Actually, she blackmails him while he is taking a bath. She threatens to tip a bottle of rose and jasmine oil into the water. He reluctantly agrees, and then knocks the bottle over accidentally.

The sweet smelling Robin serves up a luscious meal of bacon pate followed by Roast Pork. While he and Chrissy retreat to the Ropers' flat, Jo ( kitted out in an evening gown ) greets David. Mrs.Roper spots David, and informs Robin and Chrissy that he is Jewish...

This episode saw the debut of Robin's 'naughty' cooking apron. You could buy these at the time by mail order from 'The News Of The World'. This is a nice episode as it makes Jo the centre of attraction. 'Robin's Nest' would in my view have been so much funnier with Jo and Larry working in that bistro instead of Vicky and Albert.

Funniest moment - Robin, Chrissy and the Ropers playing a French version of 'Monopoly'. "Allez in prison...I've won twenty pounds in a beauty contest!", says George, hoping the others' command of French is not terribly good.
