Mrs. Roper: It's years since you touched that garden, George. It's only the bindweed keeping down the nettles that gives us a view of the broken fence.

Roper goes to pot!
22 March 2017 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

The Ropers' back garden is so full of weeds it looks like a jungle, so Roper tells Robin and Chrissy to get it into shape. As they are one month behind with the rent, they have no choice but to comply. Jo is away at her uncle's funeral, and Larry manages to get out of the back-breaking work. Finding an unusual-looking plant, Chrissy brings it into the flat, and Mrs.Roper puts one like it into her entry at a forthcoming flower arranging competition. Larry identifies the plant as cannabis...

A good episode. Larry's claim about the plant is supported by the fact that squatters once occupied the house, and may well have grown the plants for their personal use. Robin phones Roper and warns him about the plant. "Can of what?", asks Roper. "Oh. Biss.". And he proceeds to destroy his wife's entry before the judges get a chance to see it.

Funniest moment - watching a beauty contest - 'Miss Common Market' - on television ( something you can't do anymore ), Chrissy wishes she could see men parading around in similar fashion, whereupon Robin and Larry duly oblige, only for Roper to walk in unexpectedly.
