With Jo in attendance at a family christening, Robin is left all alone in the flat with Chrissy. As he has been recently reading sex manuals by the truckload, she is understandably worried he might try and get fresh with her. In the 'The Mucky Duck', he meets up with friend Larry ( Doug Fisher ). Nearby are a couple of girls from the Polytechnic - the stunning Liz ( Jenny Hanley ) and not-so stunning Sheila ( Janine Duvitski ). Robin invites Liz back to the flat. The problem is - what to do about Chrissy?

Doug Fisher makes his debut here as 'Larry', and worked so well with Richard O'Sullivan he was made into a regular in Season 3. It was good to see Robin chatting to someone other than the girls and the Ropers. Jenny Hanley was in the Bond classic 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' ( 1969 ) and went on to co-present I.T.V.'s rival to 'Blue Peter' - the fondly remembered 'Magpie'. She reprised the role of 'Liz' in the opening episode of Season 2 - 'When The Cat's Away'. Janine Duvitski - here credited as Drzewicki - went on to a string of acting roles, most notably Dennis Potter's 'Blue Remembered Hills' and as 'Pippa' in 'One Foot In The Grave'.

Yes, this is good stuff, effectively laying the foundations for the show's future. The 'tape measure' gag was a bit naughty for the 8.30 Wednesday night time-slot though.

Funniest moment - Chrissy wrecking Robin's night of romance by pretending to be pregnant by him!

Second funniest moment - Sheila asking Larry: "What about that Gary Glitter, eh?". "What about him?", sneers Larry. The big laugh from the studio audience at the very mention of Glitter's name says it all. While he had his fans ( enough to put his records at No.1 in the charts at any road ), many ( myself included ) despised him even before it became known he was a paedophile. Incidentally, the 'Judge Dread' mentioned here is the singer of that name ( whose records were banned in the '70's ) and not the sci-fi hero of '2000 A.D.' comic ( which didn't start until 1978 )
