As this is the next-to-last episode in the series, the audience is given a brief a walk down memory lane. In the scene in which Magnum goes through his things there are a number of reminders of previous episodes. Next to the rubber chicken and gorilla mask there are two trophy items. One is the Cat Lover of the Year award, which Magnum earned when he saved the life of a cat named Tibalt. The second is the P.I. of the year award from the American Association of Private Investigators, which Magnum dropped and shattered, and which has been painstakingly glued back together. Next to this is the "Indiana Jones" style hat, gun, whip, and jacket that Magnum wore in the previous episode, "The Legend of the Lost Art." Magnum sets down his football helmet from when he was a quarterback for the U.S.N.A. and holds his Al Kaline baseball glove - the signature model of his childhood hero on the Detroit Tigers. He also finds a dress that belonged to his six-year-old daughter. Last but not least is his trademark red luau shirt with the blue parrots, which is folded and in his suitcase.
The final appearance of Eugene Roche as Luther H. Gillis.
