Could have been

Potential for a classic tongue-in-cheek episode except for Cassie Yates. The idea is fun. A would be writer who idolizes and romanticizes Magnum gets involved in one of his cases. And in her imagination/writing the fun part takes place which is the back and forth of depicting Magnum and his buddies as a James Bond with entourage. Magnum is Bond with TC as personal friend/pilot, Rick as millionaire playboy moving from one casino to another, and Higgins as Magnun's chauffeur. No doubt the regulars had some fun and got good support from Paul Gleason. But Yates has no appeal at all in this episode. She does embody the spirit of a complete buttinsky but for the episode to work you have to care for her at least a little and that doesn't happen. What could have been a classic becomes a bit of a bore.
