It's Tropa-licious!

Warning: Spoilers
There's nothing that thrilling about "Working Girls". Other than Barry Corbin's over-the-top performance as a local pimp. The main actors settle into their roles, and it's fun watching Perlman and Midkiff outham each other while dueling with Corbin. Even if they don't share an acting scene with him.

Of course, the prostitutes that have any speaking lines are all "soiled doves". Mary is initially prejudiced against them, but Wickes drops an anvil on her with a spot-on speech to her about how she's just like them except luckier and richer, Nathan doesn't do much except bring together Mary and the injured prostitute (he doesn't even get to throw a knife!), and the bad guys are all inept. They search the entire town, are satisfied when they don't find a single woman, and it takes their boss pointing out that there wasn't a single woman in the town for them to realize that something is wrong. (And where did the Seven hide all of the townswomen, besides the prostitutes?).

We do get to see the main actors settle into their roles. Perlman has more to do as Josiah, and Vin (Eric Close) is amusing as the onlooker to everyone else's exploits. This is mostly a Buck episode, as we find out that he's the son of a prostitute and that's why he's a womanizer (??). And Buck has settled down into a paternal role for J.D.

Chris is still tight-lipped and has a love-hate (mostly hate at this point) relationship with Mary and vice versa. And it's raining again: was it raining most of the time where they filmed? And of course, the prostitutes ride out of town at the end, never to be seen again. And of course, the main characters are all perfect gentlemen. No historical accuracy here, no siree bob.

Overall, "Working Girls" isn't a bad episode. It's just nothing special.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. What do you think?
