Best so far.

"Vanishing Lady" manages to hit a decent combination of magic and mystery, unlike the first two episodes. They don't try to saddle Tony (Bixby) with a romantic relationship, unlike the earlier episodes where Bixby demonstrated he's no dramatic romantic lead, and two of the kidnappers, Anna and Jim, get at least a bit of character development. They're both as dumb as a bag of bricks: watch Tony steal their Winnebago and Anna watches haplessly... with a gun in her hand.

Keene Curtis is good, because... well, he's Keene Curtis. Jerry and Dennis don't have much to do. But the episode manages to be entertaining, unlike the pilot and premiere episode. So there's that. This is "The Magician" that I remember from '73.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. What do you think?
