Warning: Spoilers
So Pete Thorton and Macgyver are showing a Egypt diplomat an ancient boat with that goat headed Egyptian that takes people to the other world after death. Ironically it just hit me now that this is the premise of the episode. So anyhow , Mac's granddad, dies of a heart attack in Minnesota while fishing with a kid. The kid had a twins hat. I Remember being 10, i had two things i loved, collecting my 1986 Topps Baseball cards and watching this show (My 4th grade teacher killed Dukes of hazard and A-Team by mentioning how predictable they were.) so when i saw a John Butcher of the Twins 1986 Topps card that looked like macgyver, i was confused. that's why i remember this episode., So this bad ass Egyptian looking dude, is in the parking lot and pulls out a gas mask among other stuff and raids Pete and the Egyptian diplomat looking at hte boat sculpture. Mac has left to call to check on his grandpa using a phone that looks like the phones i got at work. that puzzled me. So the mullet ed terrorist does a honestly pretty crappy gas bomb. they looked like me down wind at a camp fire. just move and your fine. But he takes the boat artifact, a siren is siren ed , and Mac chases him to his white Grand Marquis car (i had a friend with that car growing up. great solid car that he used as a battering ram later in life and maybe when we were kids). So Mac is thrown off the roof and end up ontop of another solid car and then in the hospital in a coma. So the Egyptian Mullet guy, as stupid as stupid can be, tells the diplomat that Macgyver saw his face. If i was the diplomat, i would then kill him. Say some gang was chasing them shouting racist stuff and leave it at that. But instead ,they hang out at the hospital, for really who knows how much time. anyhow the artifact was stolen by the diplomat for an independent collector. Really, your a Egyptian diplomat, you have control over the pyramids and who knows what else? So able to break into a museum but not a hospital, the diplomat and his croonie wait with Pete Thorton. So the diplomat gives his mullet' ed assassin a syringe with poison or something and tells him to give it to Mac when he can. I saw a Joe Kenda Homicide Hunter like this, and it was only half an episode cause it was so plain cut. if you put a syringe or mess with someones IV unit, an alarm goes off and ruins it. anyhow, Pete is aware that one of there own may be guilty as he tells the person that really wants the artifact, hhmmmmm. but this is Hollywood so that said, this is where Mac is in the after life and they finally let him on the ship he saw Harry board, that he couldn't get on till the ship mates apple computer confirmed all this. it was nice that while he was in line , the guys behind him had white hair. that was more pleasant than say a bunch of burnt kids and burnt school bus driver. i watched too many beetle juice cartoons i guess. So mac gets on the ship, he realizes he is dead, but Harry is not cool with this. Though he hada heart attack in Minnesota, he seems to know it wasn't Macs time. But mac wants to see his mom and dad. and Stubbornly he does, and i just yell out 'oh come on, Marion Ross is his mom, i just saw a Drew Carey where she was his mom, is she everyone' s mom?" due to this lovely site, i learned it was a lookalike. So they all happy but Harry gives Mac a coin, the same coin shown before as a medallion for the Egyptian guy. he then uses the coin , having good knowledge though new to death, to use it for a view finder thing and Mac sees Pete being killed by Egyptian to thwart investigation to him. SO mac realizes he has to leave and captain thwarts him and locks him and harry in engine room. Engine room huh? they not even trying. so he breaks out, and takes from what i learned in this pages "goofs section" from a die hard boat guy, takes the davnit something way too quick but gets to shore to come back to life. I was more perplexed that while being lowered he didn't plan his pushing to get momentum to get back to pier till the guy dragged him back up on that davnit rig thing. So he ends up waking from his coma, having the power to tell Pete that the bad guy is mullet guy, who still stayed there for some reason and they were busted. SO this life taught me that my after life beliefs are wrong and it is pretty much the John Edwards theory that is right. Death is just another step to where we are all in a place all happy, all of us, and not suffering from all the ignorant crap we do, and able to look down on our relatives and feel good about it. Whooptee doo that sounds great (I'm Christian so though that may sound insane, i find that opinion equally insane.).. Anyhow loved this episode. id give it more stars if it wasn't for the cheese factor. i left a lot out.

Passage to Hearafter

Warning: Spoilers
It's always the last thing you would every think would happen, despite how good and how long a hero and superhero has survived sometimes for some of them comes that terrible day which just goes to show, how human they truly are.

As a kid this episode really made me cry; it was so unreal to me seeing that MacGyver can actually die. I remember thinking "no please don't let this be the end!" but from what occurs in this episode I couldn't be sure of anything.

I remember the first time seeing Mac getting thrown off the roof and landing on the car. It was really shocking and I thought OMG! not just seeing Mac lose for once but just seeing him fatally injured. It sort of taught me a valuable lesson that the battle between good and evil is never a one sided affair.

Or even that moment when we see Mac get out of bed but then looks at his own body still on the bed, it just really gave me a sinking feeling because I realize at that moment MacGyver is near death. Sure Mac has been in near death situations before and has got himself out alright but here this is the afterlife, there isn't always anyway back.

I really like his moments with his parents which were touching but most of all with his grandpa Harry. This really was the character's final episode which made it really sad, it kinda hits close to home for me since I lost my Grandfather.

And we see MacGyver of course faced with a dilemma, where he can join his parents and grandparents in the afterlife or go back to the mortal realm to save Pete whom will be killed if he doesn't come back. In a way it's the kind of dilemma on the conflicting moral obligations toward family and greater good. Though with the case of Pete it's both, seeing Pete again made Mac realize he does have a reason to go on because there is still a member of his family that needs him more than his own family.

In a way the themes are on finding the will to live on but most importantly that the ones we love are never really gone, even when we can't see them they are never far away.

Heart to heart.

Warning: Spoilers
Unexpectedly calm episode for a season finale, but keeps you on your toes. MacGyver is a hero but not just any hero, he is vulnerable as the rest of us.

MacGyver is trying to stop statue meddler and gets punched and thrown over 2 or 3 story building on top of a car. What is sad about this episode, MacGyvers grandfather also gets sent to a hospital so we don't know nothing about his fate. He was in season 1 which makes glad that he is back and recurring.

Now Mac being in comatose state, he gets sent to a ''passage'' state dream. He follows his grandfather to this ship that is about to leave. When Mac says hi to Harry, Harry is pretty disappointed of him being on the ship, which means that he is about to join the death realm. Mac tries to be convincing that he wants to be with Harry and Harry remarks him with that he is as stubborn as he is.

Mac gets to see his parents and have a heart to heart until Harry shows him the telescope, the vision tells that if he doesn't go off the ship, Pete gets shot by Hakim.

Simple story with great musical scores, it gets to a point when doctors have to reinstate MacGyvers heart while Pete is there worried about his colleague and friend. Mac wakes up but can't talk so Pete gives him some chalk powder and he points the finger on the accomplice.

At the end the ship scene confirmed that Harry is gone but Mac and Pete have heart to heart at the hospital about death. Mac is not that scared of death now and the little speech calm Pete down. The end !
