- In gratitude for Hawkeye and Trapper saving his son, a general donates an officer's club to the 4077th. Hawkeye and Trapper work to allow everyone access to the club.
- Trapper and Hawkeye remove a veritable junkyard from paratrooper, Gary Mitchell, and incur the undying gratitude of Gen. Mitchell, his father. Gen. Mitchell sends the pair on a drunken toot to Tokyo which ends up tiring Radar and Henry more than the revellers. Upon their return to camp, they find Frank arranged for Gen. Mitchell to give the 4077 a club for "Officers Only." This is not so nifty for the enlisted men...and they are not about to let the officers forget it. Can Trapper and Hawkeye think of a way to bring down the sign...without bringing down the whole club around it?—LA-Lawyer
- Trapper and Hawkeye remove a veritable junkyard from paratrooper, Gary Mitchell. Henry informs them that Gary is Gen Mitchell's son. Now, Frank wants to assist in surgery, but Henry asks him to go away and focus on his own cases. They incur the undying gratitude of Gen. Mitchell, his father. Gen Mitchell brings a full case of 12 yr scotch for Henry for a job well done. Frank tries to take credit for the surgery, but Henry tells Mitchell that it was Trapper and Hawkeye who were in charge of the operation. Gen. Mitchell meets them in the swamp and sends the pair on a drunken toot (a 3 days and 3 nights romp) to Tokyo (with a suite at the Imperial hotel) which ends up tiring Radar and Henry more than the revelers (the guys send pipe cleaners to Gen MacArthur's table at the Imperial Hotel, rickshaw races in the hotel lobby, half the girls missing from the local brothel, bobbing for customers at a local bath house.).
Upon their return to camp, they find Frank arranged for Gen. Mitchell to give the 4077 a club for "Officers Only." The bar has slot machines and juke boxes. This is not so nifty for the enlisted men...and they are not about to let the officers forget it (every NCO in the outfit starts behaving proper military even in front of Trapper and Hawkeye, they put "enlisted only" signs at lunch tables, ). Trapper and Hawkeye can see that the enlisted staff at the 4077 MASH are hurt at the decision of segregation on the basis of rank. Trapper and Hawkeye think of a way to bring down the sign... Henry says that the club is a gift from Gen Mitchell, who wanted this to be an officer's club. Henry says he cant do anything if the enlisted men are unhappy about the decision. They convince Henry to take the sign down if enough officers in the outfit agree. Kwang Duk is the bartender at the club. Frank is drinking Shirley Temples, Houlihan goes for a scotch without the fruit. Trapper and Hawkeye join them and have dry martinis. Hawkeye takes Houlihan for a dance. Trapper wants Frank to sign the form to let enlisted men into the club, but he flat refuses. Hawkeye doesn't manage to convince Houlihan as well.
Gen Mitchell arrives to open the club and Trapper brings his son to meet him at the club. Mitchell wants to buy him a drink as he is very happy to see Gary on his own 2 feet. Hawkeye points that Gary is an enlisted man has hence cannot enter the club. Gen Mitchell agrees, since that is the custom, "Officers only". Henry grants an exception for relatives (based on a suggestion made by Hawkeye) and Hawkeye then grants entry to the entire enlisted staff citing, they are his extended family (Radar is like his son and Klinger is like his daughter). Gen Mitchell shares a close and slow dance with Margaret, which makes Frank really mad.
