Storyline

It is either one quarter or 20 past catatonic as the officers file into the 4077 O Club. Hawkeye's bar tab is so high, it inspires a whole week of cold turkey sobriety. As annoying as he is drunk, it is nothing to Hawkeye on the wagon. Honoria, younger sister of Chuckles, plans to marry an Italian. When he cannot take away her shoes & rice, Chuckles takes to drink. As Hawkeye's DTs worsen and infect the entire camp, Margaret finally tells him to shut up. Lt. Mendenhall (Shelley Long) made a date with a "terrific guy" named Hawkeye but soon finds she is really on a date with Wayne Wheeler. A catastrophe in OR sparks completely unprecedented events at the 4077--Dr. Sanctimony drives a nice Irish lad to cursing. Is the"all or nothing" approach a sign of lack of control, indicative of deeper issues? Would Carry Nation, herself, have meeded a few belts after the 4077's last session in OR? Written by LA-Lawyer

The Drinks Are on Everyone
19 April 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Hawkeye gets his bar bill at the officer's club and it dawns on him how much drinking he does. He decides to go on the wagon. The problem is that he immediately becomes everyone's worst nightmare. He is judgmental, preachy, loud, manic, and just no fun. The second plot involves Charles' bigotry when he finds out that his sister is about to marry an Italian. He does everything he can to try to get his sick feelings to his sister. He sends letters, drinks too much, rants. Meanwhile, B.J. is being victimized by the noise. He can't get any sleep. His roomies are about as insensitive as can be. Hawkeye's character is so self-centered anyway, but now he takes it to a new level. The culminating moment involves an incident in the O.R. that defines things for all participants.
