Hawkeye is seen putting a Velcro blood pressure cuff on a patient. Velcro wasn't patented until 1958. The army as of 1968 was still using the old long tailed fabric wrap around type cuff.
When Hawkeye is taking the patient's blood pressure, he's not listening with his stethoscope. Since he over-pressures the cuff and misses the first measurement, he would need to start over to get an accurate measurement.
